Volunteering with LEAP is a meaningful way to invest in your community. It can also be very educational as you experience some of the best language and literacy development programming in the country in action.
Volunteers are a driving force behind the work that we do. Our volunteers average a few hours a month, but collectively contribute 40 hours to the organization each month – the equivalent of a full week’s work. Whether you find yourself helping at a program, in the office, or planning a fundraiser, your donation of time and talent will make an important organizational impact.
LEAP regularly has volunteer opportunities available at program sites and at our office in downtown Chicago. Some are suited for volunteers with experience in the field of language development, but for most you simply need a little time and the desire to contribute.

If you have an hour-or-two where you want to re-charge while helping kids reach their own personal best in the classroom, the workplace and the community, volunteering with LEAP is a meaningful way to invest your time and talents. It can also be a great learning experience, as you gain hands-on experience students with some of the best research-based language and literacy skill development tools available while meeting others who share your sense of purpose.

Our opportunities and need for volunteers changes often. While not all opportunities listed above are always available, we will make every effort to situate you in a rewarding volunteer project that meets your interests and talents.
